When the guru gives the mantra to you, it is mostly transmitted through voice.
Does the guru lose power then? Even if you dont practice what is given? No,
because of the nature of vidya; the tutor does not lose the ability to teach;
on the contrary, the abilities are enhanced. Since voice is the medium of
transmission, an audio file of the guru's recitation of the mantra can also
initiate. But notice, voice is not the only way. Guru can transmit energy by
visualising your psychic energy fields and putting packets of energy there. The

from your home by yourself with the help of videos and document files. You can

in the last mile from a living guru. The highest transmission happens in total
silence.
What does it take to learn? I dont understand an ancient language like
sanskrit or mandarin. This is a common problem for every one. Learning curves
are steep because of this.
Then why depend on ancient systems? Because they are time-tested, they are
known to work. So they are useful. Some are comprehensive, some superficial. It
is always better to steer clear of either shore, of too little or too much.
