DEVIPURAM
AMMA JATARAS
Guruji: Devi-puram means the body of Consciousness.
Devipuram is the body of every living being, including you, me and all. It is
also a place between Anakapalle and Sabbavaram where a great temple is made for
Devi to live with Her family.
Amma is the mother of all. Before she is an
adult, she is a virgin Baala. After marriage, She cleanses Herself and makes
Ganesha to remove obstacles for creation. She assembles your body in Her womb combining
Her red blood ovum and white seed of Her spouse. These seeds are made of earth,
water, fire, air, space. She is called Gouri. She nourishes and protects you
against harmful beings and diseases with Her milk, a white form of blood. She
is called Shyama. She educates you and makes you an adult. Then she is called Kali
or Koli. Finally She is always sporting with Her lover Shiva. We celebrate Her
gift of life with gratitude in Her devotion, loving Her through a MAD ecstasy
of Music, Art and Dance festivals.
Jatara means a festival. Let us have five
jataras every year.
- Baala jatara before and after Guru Pournami, because our Guru is Balaji, a virgin form of Amma.
- Ganesh jatara around Ganapati navaratris to remove self imposed obstacles to creativity and procreation.
- Puja time Durga in Sharada Navaratris 10 days.
- Remaining Aswija masam Shyama and Koli (short for Kola mukhi or Varahi)
- Kartikam, Pushya masam as Amma in Sri Chakra
In every one of these festivals, the same
steps will be followed.
- Draw the yantra of Baala, Ganesha, Durga, Shyama, Koli, and Amma.
- Decorate yantras with short (1meter) poles and decorate seats for people.
- Seat people- virgins, singles, couples to energy centers in yantras.
- Invoke 100 jeevakalas to all seated Gods / goddesses. Give panchamrit. TK1
- Invoke Amma’s life into each participant. Do puja to all limbs, 16u puja. TK2
Do puja with flowers
and gandha pushpa akshatas with LS, Khadgamala. TK3
Then organize songs, skits with social
themes, and dance by all.
The function concludes with arati and
naivedya prasadams.
The idea of Amma puja is to recognize that
fun and spirituality go together. Devi is life itself; she is best appreciated
by loving life, and creating new life forms of people organizing and working
together as one life, with a purpose of enhancing quality of life for every one
in the organization.
There are three parts to this activity. 1.
Lose individual identity in group identity. 2. Develop group consciousness, a
sense of belonging to the group. Every one is called Amma; together they become
Baala, Ganapati, Shyama, Koli, or Amma. 3. Each yantra is self organizing; only
information through web feeding it.
It all starts from Devipuram, a place near
Anakapalle, circles the world and comes back to Devipuram. Devipuram is the new
name for a new united world.
