Various kathā of Guruji
Collected by one of his disciples, Vikram
The complete dīkṣā nāmam given by Avadhūta Gurugaru to Devīpuram Guruji, soon after pūrṇa dīkṣā:
Advaita Amṛtānanda Paramahaṁsa Parivrājaka Ācārya Digambara Avadhūta Athivarṇāmī Śrī Lā Śrī (108 times) Mahā Maṇḍaleśvara
You can kill the lust by saturating it completely; this is the non-traditional way, the rebellious path, Kaula-mārga.
Me, world, Śiva, Śakti are all illusions. This is the greatest vidyā. I don’t exist. So I cannot be created, nor destroyed. Time, space, matter, knowledge, action don’t exist. This has been called Mokṣa.
How can you know that the world came out of you? You can see or know only if you have consciousness. What is consciousness? It is the mirror reflecting you to yourself. Because you are the world, you see the world. When you stop seeing the world as different from you, and that you are all, then you know that you can make the world you want, that you have a free will like God, that destiny is what you can create. You also know that you are the only person to consult when a decision is to be made. That makes deciding an extremely simple process.
The lowest level at which we understand the Śiva Liṅga is at the level of physical union. It is the male phallus which is called Śiva and the female yoni which is called Pārvatī. It is their union that we are worshiping. There, the union is for procreation.
At the next highest level, the fire in the navel center and the love in the heart center, their union is called Śiva and Śakti.
In the next higher level still, space is considered the womb and time is the liṅga which is moving. The universe of space and time is called the Śiva Liṅga.
All the five elements, all the ways in which we perceive, all these are considered to be liṅgas.
After these three levels, we reach the fourth and transcendent level where there is no distinction between the seer and the seen. They have become one. That is the highest form of the liṅga. It is called aliṅga. There is no liṅga there. There is no characteristic that differentiates one from the other. You are joined so totally with the world. You have absorbed the whole world into yourself and there is nothing other than you. So, to reach that state is called mokṣa.
What is consciousness? It is the mirror reflecting you to yourself.
She is the black hole — on Śavāsana Mahā Kālī.
In Devī you find the five senses which are the five arrows. These are the channels through which your mind can be disturbed. She holds them separate from the mind which is the bow. The bow and the five arrows are indeed the mind and the five senses. She holds them separately. She does not connect the arrow to the bow, which means that Devī represents the yogic state where you decouple your mind from disturbing sensory inputs. But even when this mind is decoupled from the senses, there is still another part of the mind which is the memory. The memory contains in it all the senses and it keeps on bringing these things up. All those things also have to be decoupled. The mind itself has to go. It is then that you are flowing in the cosmic awareness.
I am the one who points fingers at you and I am the one who defends you. I am the one who loves you and I am the one who scolds you. I am the one who insults you, and I am the one who compliments you. Learn to see me in the enemy and in the friend, because I exist in all.
Make your whole life a prayer.
He is a siddha luminary in the Śrīvidyā tradition. The secret Lalitā Sahasranāmam and even more secret Lalitā Triśatī were revealed to him by Hayagrīva, a form of Lord Viṣṇu. No less accomplished is his utterly beautiful wife Lopāmudrā, who is the seer of Hādīvidyā — on Agastya Muni.
With devotion and intensity. You must be in love with Devī all the time. — on the key element to get siddhi in the mantras of the Cosmic Divine Mother
The entire creation is just a thought in the cosmic mind of Kālī.
I invoke all my gurus thru it — commenting on the Pādukā mantra of Avadhūta Gurugaru.
It’s like driving a speeding car without brakes — commenting when a disciple shared about his daily spiritual practices invoking multiple deities.
Because of recurring failures, you are losing faith. That is why it (ritual) is becoming mechanical, no feeling. Stop it for a couple of months. See if your situation improves.
Does anyone know what is enlightenment? We do not know enlightenment, but we know this life. Make heaven on earth now! That is the message of Tantra.
The last moments were constructed like this... Guruji stepped into the bathroom in the morning and then there was huge noise heard by Guru Amma (as we respectfully call his wife by), who rushed to the bathroom to see the Mahāsiddha sitting in Sukhasana, raising his finger upwards. Prior to this auspicious event of mahā samādhi, the great Guru did not even give a hint to his departure from physical realm, not even to his wife nor even to close disciples. But it was heard that Guruji did voice from past few years with few people about waiting for directive from Cosmic Mother to relieve his burden (he had single-handedly borne financial burden of building temple, solely trained and initiated disciples, etc., in spite of undergoing four heart attacks) to merge finally with Her. He, thru his mighty powers, did know the final dissolution of remaining karma (that binds one to earthly ties), and when he got the final command, with an utter dispassion (that only Sadāśiva has an unique attribute), left ...
Śakti doesn’t need Śiva; She can create numerous Śivas.
Be like a child, innocent and passionately alive in the moment.
Your aim is to raise yourself above your head, merge into that form, and experience unending spiritual orgasm, which you may call the dance of the galaxies, the dance of rising waterfalls, the divine light-and-sound show. The joy you experience will shower your whole body with a thrill you have never known before. The experience there is indescribable.
Bhakti means devotion. Bhakti Yoga is the path of devotion designed for persons in the emotional category. Generally misconstrued as a path of blind faith, superstitious belief, or mechanical ritual. People throughout the world follow all these rituals to attain God without probing into their validity.
If we are meditating upon Devī, I simply become Devī in Samādhi. As Devī receives worship by devotees, so do I. As Devī blesses people, so do I bless people. As Devī exists in all beings, so do I exist in all beings. All bodies are mine, all eyes, all hands, all feet, all skin, all senses, all experience are my experiences. There is none other than me and the Goddess of eros, and I worship myself through the union of the liṅga and yoni. Infinite intercourse with Śiva is my nature, unending orgasmic bliss is my rasa of Śṛṅgāra. Such is the experience of Samādhi. It is not void. It is not null. It is full. It transcends all life. It transcends all space and time. It is solidified knowledge, action, and desire. There is no movement in it, there is no birth, growth, or death, yet it is sum total of all possible experiences, of all life forms in all the worlds at all times.
The Guru is committed to take care of you (just like a husband/wife) as a soul mate. The real Guru, Goddess/God, speaks through the Guru, who can be either female or male. Don’t confuse the Guru with a physical form. The Guru of everyone is one and the same. And that is God/Goddess. Guru appears to different people in different forms, but the form is only a symbol. You have to look behind the symbol to the truth, and that truth is called Jagannātha. Jagat means world, Nātha means husband/wife, the husband/wife of the manifested world. The Guru is referred to as the husband/wife here, so that you can open up your body, mind, and soul without any inhibitions, for deepest truths can be learned without inhibitions.
Never be so closed-minded, because everyone is your Guru. This world exists as your Guru in many forms, until you realize that you are that.
That one thing which exists is consciousness. All forms, all space, all time, all materials, are merely forms of consciousness. That is not light, but it lights up everything for God to see. By it, objects such as Sun, Moon, stars, fire, etc., shine.
Śrīvidyā siddhi can be had only by people who have no desires. Not by others.
You will obtain everything only thru the Guru Pādukā mantra — a couple of years back at Dr. Rohira’s house in Bangalore city, Guruji impromptu listed out all the desires in my mind and then commented the above advice.
Without Guru Pādukā it is like groping in the dark. It offers you light and direction to succeed on the path of spirituality.
Out of these (mantras), Guru Pādukām is most important. You can let go all the rest, besides that one. Pādukā means the sandals that the Guru wears. If you can wear sandals, the sandals know where to go. The Guru may be there or may not be there, but the Guru Pādukā mantra takes you because you wear them; they know where to take you, how to take you; they are used to going with him (Guru). Guru Pādukā mantra always stays with you, other mantras can come and go but this always stays with you. You dissolve into that, you become that, I become Śiva. It’s supposed to take you all the way up from root chakra to brain and keep you there.
Just do Guru Pādukā mantra alone as much as you can. Things will start getting better in a couple of months.
Why do you worry, everything was done during dīkṣā.
After I received pūrṇa dīkṣā thru śaktipāt from Guruji way back in 2006, I came across articles where it describes — certain Gurus of other schools had these grand rituals done and then description of how the Guru unites his subtle body with the disciple, by first entering and cleansing all the chakras, then placing bījams of the Mahāśoḍaśī in all the chakras. So when I asked Guruji, did he do all this, he gave the above reply. In our lineage, Gurus do not do elaborate rituals to impart Pūṛṇa Dīkṣā. Avadhūta Gurugaru used to impart Mahā Pādukām and Mahāśoḍaśī without any elaborate rituals or ceremonies. All used to get over in few minutes.
Once you get out of this fear of death and love of life, you are free. For this freedom, there is a price. To buy this freedom, you have to die three times. The first death is the death of the idea that you are the body. The second death is the death of the idea that you are the mind. The third death is the assumption that death is the end of life.
I never believed in miracles. These things happen in our sādhana, some knowingly and some unknowingly. But we should never look at these miracles. What happens in the spiritual practices, when you get stuck at these kinds of miracles, you will be ending up with nothing. These may be given as tests to you by Mantra Devatā sometimes. You should ignore these. Never claim that this has happened because of you.
Omkāra is Sarvamantra-svarūpiṇīm. Its four parts are the four Mahāvākyas. The third part is the most important and significant as per mantra śāstra. It is so sacred that it is encapsulated in the Mahāśoḍaśī mantra like how the bride is decked amidst ornaments in the marriage process.
Sometimes situation makes you hate someone. But don’t hate the person. Just hate the situation. Nobody is bad; situation makes a person bad.
Can God, the awareness of the universe with all galactic clusters, be bothered about purity or sin of an individual in a community in a satellite to a star in a remote part of a galaxy? Will s/he punish us for infinite time for a hundred years of wrongdoings? Shed these misconceptions.
Life is not all goody-goody; we have to accept death as the truth. These fierce forms of the Mother help you to overcome the fear of death and ultimately death itself. How can you overcome your fears without facing it?
Ritual is necessary for body to show its actions (of surrender).
I will not take responsibility for what I have told you not to do. You will have to face the consequence of the results.
Guru appears when he sees a student needs him.
Intention is all that matters.
When you sequence your undivided attention to all parts of your body, all powers of awareness will expand. When this expansion takes place, your life becomes powerful. You will be able to feel, see the Mother Goddess and become one with Her.
When you stop seeing the world as different from you, and that you are all, then you know that you can make the world you want, that you have a free will like God, that destiny is what you can create.
There are people who directly ask me for Mahāśoḍaśī (mantra) without having any qualification into Śrīvidyā, as they have not done Bālā, Gaṇapati or Pañcadaśī japam. Anyways I gave them Mahāśoḍaśī.
She plays with such things as the moon, rainbow, space, sun. Three is Her abstract symbol in OṂ. She is Tripurā Sundarī, the beautiful girl in all the three aspects of creation, sustenance and cleanup; or earth, atmosphere and heavens.
At the highest level Śiva and Śakti are united in equal union. One step down and we see Mother more than Śiva. He becomes less visible.
I feel I am an inarticulate speck of sand on the shore of an ocean trying to describe the ocean I am seeing, to the world.
The sādhana has to be done in graveyard, where there is no negative nor positive energy. One gets siddhis doing the sādhana in the graveyard. You must have a powerful Guru, else you can go mad in doing the sādhana. In this path, the Guru approaches the student and not the other way round — on Aghorācāra.
Every human being life is to be born, grow up, earn money, then get married, beget children. Then again to make them grow, conduct their studies, then their marriage. Then finally leaving the body. Every human life is at present going this way. But we must not be like that. We have to do something. We have to do sādhana. We have to give knowledge, wisdom to others. We have to pray for every human life. Finally we have to reach Divine.
You can help improve your present environment by tuning in to it; by merging with it. You’ve got to lose yourself. You’ve got to become your environment and work from there.
I suggest you to stop telling solutions. You attain siddhis while worshipping Divine Mother, which tries to stop you there itself. Don’t exhibit them; they may annihilate your sādhana and won’t allow you to go to higher levels.
Make efforts to eliminate your one bondage; God will come himself and remove them all.
These happen, just proceed — when a disciple complained about experiencing laziness, introversion and sexual desires while doing sādhana of Ucchiṣṭa Gaṇapati.
Always put others before yourself and then the universe will favour you, but don’t do it so that the universe favours you, because that makes it a selfish act. Do it because you genuinely care.
So what is Puraścaraṇa? Puras means before, caraṇa means done. Done before what? Before requesting a Deity to answer our prayers. In effect, cosmic energy of awareness must be directed to our problems.
When death threatens, be not concerned, but observe the process very carefully, enjoy every moment of it.
When sex tries to involve you, be not concerned, but observe the process very carefully, enjoy every moment of it.
Hindu philosophy tells us that it’s a richer representation; Buddhist philosophy tells us that it’s a Zero because nothing is there — no time; no experience. We say it is not nothing, but everything — not empty, but full! They call it śūnyam — we call it pūrṇam.
She knows best how to lift a man from the illusion of bondage to eternal cosmic love and power of all-pervasive.
Everything happens for a reason at the right time and it’s always a great experience to learn to appreciate the way the universe bends at every moment, even when you feel alone.
What then is a mantra? When sages sit meditating, that is listening to the sound of Oṃ in their heart–throat–head centres, out of the ocean of Oṃ, waves called mantras arise and are heard or seen in meditation. That is why each mantra has a seer — the ṛṣi who happened to see or hear the mantra in his meditation.
Paramātman (Supreme Soul) is an objectless entity. He is established in Śrīdevī (Cosmic Mother), the divine consciousness that is like the surface of a still lake of the mind, and he floats like a swan on this still lake.
If I would be able to help myself, I would be able to help everyone, but we are still limited entities here on earth. Before starting to help others one has to resolve all personal issues, to become self-sufficient and strong.
If seeker proceeds without any desires except for śuddha jñānam (pure knowledge), then Cosmic Mother, through the Guru who is in human form, blesses one with liberation.
I don’t exist. So I cannot be created, nor destroyed. Time, space, matter, knowledge, action don’t exist. This has been called Mokṣa. The final release.
God is dreaming and we are all parts of his dream. You choose to be a painless part; I choose to be all of the illusion. Will pleasure be a pleasure unless pain is also there?
The Devī is completely in union with Śiva on Amāvāsyā. That is when She is called Kālī. During Pūrṇimā, the full moon, Devī is completely separate. She is Lalitā then.
You should have strong faith and belief in your Guru’s ability and confidence that he can show you the path towards God and realization. When you have no faith in your Guru, then the mantra taken from him may not work and will remain as a combination of words.
Ramana Maharṣi enacted his own death in his mind and became enlightened. He asked that question “Who am I?” He remained in the question, he did not answer the question. Sometimes answers are not got by answering but by being with the question. Answers have to spring from untoward intelligence; it has to spring from vacuum, not from your reasoning and rational thinking. You pose the question and wait for the answer. You make all the efforts, but you have to keep on putting the efforts; answers come in a relaxed state.
Offer your sex to Goddess. Whether it is intercourse or masturbation, it does not matter much, even though the first is better because Śiva and Śakti are being satisfied. When you do it with mantra japa, sex gets offered to Śakti.
Don’t feel bad or think it is immoral to have sex with deity.
Caṇḍī is like a road roller. She creates a path if there is none, moves slumber to action, gives inspirations and holds hands till the end. She is Mahākālī, Mahālakṣmī and Mahāsarasvatī, all in one.
Rituals are only the beginning of sādhana and not the end.
Knowing that karmas are just paper tigers, one becomes sinless and leads others to that state. If one sees God in oneself and in all that one sees, then no matter what he sees, he is sinless. Sins are afraid of such a one. Karmas fall away from such a one.
Advaita is seeing thru others’ eyes — Guruji was saying that Advaita realization is that one becomes all, and one must be able to see thru others’ eyes.
There won’t be any such thing, but there will be small wars — on possibility of world war.
The bliss of speaking out, from the tip of tongue, is Sarasvatī. Sarasvatī is rasavatī, one who has rasa or ānanda with Śā the Śakti. Sarasvatī means the bliss of orgasmic union, utter creativity, manifest by detachment and elimination of notion of one’s own and another’s.
Gurugaru wanted to give me lot of gifts and I rejected them — on the mantras that Avadhūta Gurugaru wanted to give in addition to what he received during Pūṛṇa dīkṣā. Avadhūta Gurugaru wanted to give him Karṇa Piśācī Vidyā, since he believed it would do good to Devīpuram Guruji.
Your mother is your first Guru; she bore you for nine months in her womb, then fed you milk and kept you on her chest.
It is up to you to accept or reject it — on judgments. When I shared with Guruji on how society, including our spiritual brothers, judges based on wealth, married or not, etc.
Recently, I am trying to reduce the complexities. I do not want to worry about whether my work applies to exceptional cases or to 0.01% of population. I want to see the utility of what I am doing to a large number of population. When I see two people walking on the road and ask myself the question, whether they need my teaching, I am getting an answer “No, they don’t need your teaching.” They are happy by themselves. I want to get across to 17000 people of the entire population on Earth.
If you have a group of enemies internally or externally, perform Mahā Pratyangira and Mahā Vārāhī homam.
First stand on your feet, before helping others.
To get everything, Guru’s grace is necessary, followed by your untiring effort.
Samādhi is the union of extinction and awareness. Death is extinction; life is awareness. In Samādhi, one is switching back and forth between extinction and awareness. This is happening in all the states! Whether you are working, dreaming, or sleeping, you are all the time dying and reborn. Every second, your consciousness of one second ago is dead and gone, and you are a new one, whether you like it or not. Samādhi is an eternal property of Godhood. Since you are God, it is your property too.
If we are self-centred and always ask “I want this, I want that,” we may get less. But if we help others and work for helping them, we will get abundant help. Instead of helping/empowering a single person, let us empower villages. There are so many destitute and old people in old age homes and orphanages who need love and support. Let us make a family by joining an old age person with a destitute and an orphan child. Here the old people can have children and grandchildren, while the destitute gets support and the orphan child is taken care of.
That equality, identity between jīva and Paramātman, attained and maintaining the elimination of all plans (saṅkalpa), that is called Samādhi.
The world manifests in the separation of Kālī and Kāla; it disappears in their union.
In the completeness, we also find the emptiness, as the completeness is an illusion made out of emptiness. Completeness is realizing that atoms are 99.9% empty space, returning to the fullness of the source.
An interesting anecdote narrated by a student of Prof. Seshan on his meeting with Devīpuram Guruji, recently in Bangalore city:
“I met Parama Guruji. After a lapse in the conversation, Guruji closed his eyes for a few seconds and opened them and looked at me, who was sitting opposite to him. He had a glint in his eyes. The vibrations from his eyes were so strong, I could not look at him. Then he smiled and said, ‘When the stars and humans are against you, it’s like swimming against the tide.’”
The Meru that was designed by Devīpuram Guruji was found and tested in the lab to emit higher frequencies, and the calculation by Guruji as inspired by Kāmākhyā was found to be very accurate, when he shared his notes for making of the first Devīpuram Meru.
Pilgrimage is good, but personal sādhana is important — courtesy of Krishna Ramesh, who met Devīpuram Guruji at Vizag residence.
The universe came from a small hole. Mother forced Father to put forth a beam of light and that it is constantly increasing till a point; it will collapse and contract into black hole. So it’s expanding and contracting like breathing — courtesy of Krishna who met Devīpuram Guruji at his Vizag residence last week.
If a prostitute offers her body as a temple to others, what is this? — Guruji said this to his disciple Lori.
It is powerful to chant mantras during menses, since uterus is being cleaned.
Spirituality is an altered state of physical mind, where limits imposed by matter don’t work anymore. For example, staying at rest is easy for matter; traveling with infinite speed is normal for probability waves describing presence of matter. I believe Vedas are describing all methods capable of transition from matter to spirit, be they meditative or use of physical drugs.
Mantra is genetic code of deity.
Love based on physical attraction comes and goes. Spiritual love based on identity is love all to serve, knowing that you are serving yourself when serving all whom you love. This can never go away, even after death.
People are always there to beat you with the stick of judgment. The world likes to beat people with the stick of judgment. There’s no need for you to beat yourself with one as well — to his disciple, who was traumatized by accusations from his close ones when he left monkhood and embraced Tantra.
It is natural to think of Her like that — when one person from Mumbai city (not initiate) shared with Guruji that he was having erotic thoughts of Her and was feeling guilty about it.
In relation to the mind and all the noise of the thoughts, imagine that there are 50,000 thoughts a day we have. Now imagine that through some discipline, you cut those thoughts down to 10,000 and then more to 1,000...500...100...10...1. ONE thought. Now imagine ALL of the energy that went to making 50,000 thoughts is now behind one thought! This is the great power of manifestation we have.
She is my Śakti, my wife... happily married for 53 yrs now... at least I think! (lots of laughter) I have survived the marriage because of only one thing... I have accepted defeat. The only way I can keep the marriage alive is to accept she is always right and I am always wrong — when sharing explanation of Guru Pādukā mantra, referring to his Śakti, Śrī Annapūrṇāmbā in the mantra.
The Goddess is in me & the world that I see is also the Goddess.
Success or failure in life have nothing to do with spirituality. Peace of mind in spite of all miseries of life is spirituality.
Let go of sense limits by suspending judgments.
He only prays or wishes his disciples that their desires be fulfilled and understand Śrīvidyā better. He is a magician... you would not know how he transforms you and neither takes credit to anything nor expects anything from you. A very simple man... while with him he is you... naughty, young... a mirror of you... But very large in his heart... he is God. — Guruji’s disciple Prasanna, who knows Guruji for nearly two decades, describing Devīpuram Guruji.
Do not keep the keys of happiness into others’ pocket. You will not find it. It means no matter what the world is saying or believing, you decide to be happy and committed to happy no matter what, committed not to denounce yourself for dot dot dot. God is not worried about morality, not worried about what parents say about you, not worried about whether you have devotion or not.
One of the essence of Śrīvidyā is to cope for this transformation of death and deconstruction of body into form of light, is called as Virajā homam.
I call upon the divine presence to eliminate all negations and limitations that no longer serve me. I now dispel all negations of truth and bliss and any other thoughts and emotions that do not reflect the truth of my being. They are now being deleted, transmuted and transformed by the power of the Divine Mother’s grace. I am now open and free to embrace positive life-supporting energizing thoughts and emotions. I now welcome thoughts of Devī’s grace. I am in balance. I am in control. Thank You Goddess, and so it is.
Be very, very, very happy, they are taking your karma — when a disciple of 30 years of Chennai city told Guruji that some people were talking ill of her.
If you want to do serious sādhana, you must let go of all this — referring to traditional customs and rituals, during his recently concluded trip in Kerala.
ife is Love: Erotic love creates a new life, motherly love nourishes it, friendly love empowers it. We grow best when we are loved. If we worship Śakti with love, we get Her energy of love back tenfold.
It is natural. This rare observation by a Mahāsiddha was shared with me by some of my brother disciples, who shared their experience with Guruji about their sudden reversal of fortune upon receiving the priceless gem in Śrīvidyā. When I heard this a couple of times, it struck me that they were undergoing vāsanā-kṣayam (cleansing of vāsanās).
I will give you the mantras, but She will be your guide — to new seekers, during his recent trip to Kerala.
Mahākālī is at the Mūlādhāra.
Mahālakṣmī is at the Anāhata.
Mahāsarasvatī is at the Sahasrāra.
— explaining the trinities, while giving the dīkṣā of Caṇḍī mantra to my young brother disciple at Devīpuram temple last year.
Food is Brahma!! One should never waste it — Guruji said with anger and took and ate the half-eaten roṭī (Indian bread) which his disciple had discarded at the dining table more than two decades back at his residence in the city of Vizag. My estranged brother disciple, who served Guruji for a long time, was present too. The disciple who was misbehaving was due to excess spiritual practices and for a temporary period he had gone insane; now he is normal and happily married. It’s rare for a Guru to take on karmas immediately by eating someone’s leftover, and see how the Guru did it, in his characteristic style. Guruji rarely gets angry; hence we have no photo of how he would look in his Rudra form. When Guruji came to know that I was told the above episode, he just smiled and looked beyond in deep contemplation.
Parā is Kāmākhyā — referring to Parā mantra, when his disciple asked about the vidyā of Kāmākhyā.
— What is Kāmākhyā? — Source, i.e. the Brahma-yoni which is experienced beyond all the chakras.
I don’t follow śāstras, I make my own śāstras — context: somebody was raising objection to the rituals done as per Kaula Tantra ācāra; Guruji stopped the flow with the emphasis as a typical great Guru.
If I remain a witness even when I participate in the drama of the world, I practice yoga of play, like Kṛṣṇa.
You try to see all the elements of Goddess in another human being. You invoke the Goddess into a little girl, a single woman or a couple, and you worship them as embodiments of Goddess. Goddess is also in you, whether you are male or female. It is Goddess who is worshipping Herself.
“Śrī Devī, you have given me the highest gift, life. You have made me see, know and act in this world. What is any other gift worth if I don’t have life? I offer it sincerely at your feet. I offer my body, life, mind, wealth, and beauty at your service. Whatever my past sins, please accept me, embrace my sins and virtues, merge me into You. Make me Your instrument for Your plans to make this world a place where most people sing, dance, enjoy life, be free, serve all around, share everything they have with neighbors realizing that we are all one. I prostrate before You. Be in me, guide me at every step.”
Such should be your prayer to Her.
You cannot have Kāma to infinity. You would quickly become overwhelmed by Her desires, which are a million-million times more than anything you are capable of containing.
Why lay miseries at the feet of God? Give your happiness instead.
Loving, Giving, Breath and Meditation — these are the steps for self-actualization.
-
Your body is the real temple in which Mother Goddess lives as life.
-
Every part of your body made by the Goddess holds hidden powers that can be brought out through rituals and meditations involving effort and relaxation.
-
Thereby Goddess helps you to gain knowledge of, gather implements, and manifest the future of your dreams pretty much as you like, rewriting destiny if necessary.
If you make these ideas a part of your mindset, then the magic starts happening. The real Devīpuram is your body, and Devī manifests from there.
Merging with you in your prayers and meditation — an older email signature of Devīpuram Guruji.
My awareness is a mirror. It reflects me to myself. So I see myself only. All that I see, all that I experience, is my own Self. This whole world is me, a reflection of myself. I contain this world which has arisen in me as an experience. Space and time are thoughts in me. I am not delimited by a subset of my thoughts. So I exist beyond space and time. I am immortal. I am free.
Mahāśoḍaśī and Guru Pādukā are very powerful and can revert one from turbulent times.
When you think there is a prayoga done on self, it would block the Svādhiṣṭhāna chakra. Do tarpaṇams on Svādhiṣṭhāna with Gaṇapati, Guru and Vārāhī mantras every day for one hour and the prayoga will be nullified.
There are many versions available, I am using a simple one, the power is same — referring to Guru Pādukā mantra.
Don’t worry, my blessings are with you, in your personal sādhana — giving assurance and divine blessings to a seeker who had abused his trust and grace and had a temporary fall.
It’s like a chair, the contents can be anything — when asked whether prāṇa pratiṣṭhā to Devī can be done to an idol of another devatā.
Westerners learn little bit of Śrīvidyā and then teach as if they know everything — impromptu comment with a laugh.
Moral goodness is not alone the qualification for meeting a Master. Not even a great intellect. To meet a Sat Guru, you need humility, love and freedom from bonds of creeds. Masters get their initiation directly from Godhead or other Masters and never from priests.
Every breath we inhale is a new birth and every breath we exhale is death for us.
Think of me as the witness in you.
— What is the purpose of tantric meditations?
— The purpose is to connect the physical body to the spiritual center where “the other” is experienced as “one’s-own-self,” lending credence to the Vedāntic idea that “all is one, and that is the truth.” The newfound liberation allows control over environment, the ability to change destiny through will power, co-creating with the power of God. Parāśurāma Kalpasūtra says “Ātma-lābha” is the highest gain.
It is possible. Devī can do it. Do sādhana and ask Her. You will have to work hard for it to happen, not an easy task, but possible — on changing destiny.
The coconut is the symbol of our head. When you break the head, the juice which comes out is the life force. So your out-of-the-body experience is the coconut water that you are offering to the Devī.
We have, hidden within our own deeper awareness, wonderful Gods and Goddesses in embryo who have but one intention: to bring the sacred back into our lives. Tantra expands horizons about masculine Self and feminine World into a living experience of the eternal time with infinite space.
Tantra accepts all forms of love and pleasure in worship, and so is enjoyable; it has been held secret only because it explores the role of fear and sex in transformation; in that it is not evil or dark; that it opens up a soul giving and seeking divine pleasures to all; that it appeals to the youthful spirit of fun; that it is an exciting way to reach an ocean of bliss; that it does not require many hours of commitment every day; that it defines goals of life by connecting to Goddess and getting help from Her.
It takes a long time for grace to flow down to physical level.
Soundarya Laharī is a unique stotra and can be chanted by Devī upāsakas. Practice is key and Devī will reveal what you need to do as you develop.
(context: With regard to practicing each ślokam of Soundarya Laharī with corresponding yantra)
If Devī has indicated it then you should start it — making a divine observation with the seeker, who was having internal inspiration to chant a particular ślokam.
Don’t worry about it — when his octogenarian student shared that a detractor was doing black magic on him.
Later that evil person lost property, his own children disowned him, the roof of his house got torn away, he lost the ability to attract others, etc.
Meru is the body of the Goddess. Talk to the Śrī Cakra asking Mother to protect you when you leave the house and thank Her for everything when you enter the house — when Guruji came to know that his newly initiated disciple had Śrī Merus in her home.
It is recommended that it is certainly good to use siddhis to enjoy, attract wealth and friends, but not run after them. If we run after them, they will flee, but if we don’t seek them they will seek us.
You should not abhor (jugupsā) what others eat or drink, even if you choose to be a vegetarian or a non-alcoholic. You should understand that nothing is ever created or destroyed. Only time is moving matter and energy, creating the illusions of birth, growth and death. Vārāhī stops the flow of time (sucks its seed). Only if time collapses to a point, you will be able to move from Ājñā to Sahasrāra, gain Ājñā siddhi, apratihatā Ājñā (meaning ability to change destiny) and everlasting bliss.
I love you. I will give you peace. That is a promise. I cannot make you see Divine Mother. I will do my best, but that is something that you have to earn.
When Arjuna was seeing the universal form of Kṛṣṇa, he was afraid and could not bear it. At such times, your Guru comes to your rescue.
The Devī in you wants to be worshipped!
— How to gain grace?
— Grace will be proportional to effort on sādhana.
There is no difference between Kālī and Kṛṣṇa.
I promised, I would not share it with anyone. You know I never keep it a secret, I share it with everyone — Guruji was narrating to a seeker how he got the photos of the 15 Nityās which were hand drawn from a person (a swami, whose name was not mentioned during the conversation nor did I seek the answer) with a laugh.
99% of the photos of 15 Nityās floating around FB and Internet need to acknowledge our sweet Guru for sharing with public.
We have, hidden within our own deeper awareness, wonderful Gods and Goddesses in embryo who have but one intention: to bring the sacred back into our lives.
Always work, maybe for money or no money, in the form of service. Work relentlessly and take responsibility — instruction to his disciple. Guruji started an IT company, which ran briefly for some time before he closed it down.
You will have to go thru a tough time if you choose me — with a seeker, to choose either Guru solely or the world or both.
The context was regarding working with Guruji in his software company (which existed for a brief time).
Just dream.
Can you walk through the walls and is it possible.
These were random observations made by the Mahāsiddha without any context that a mundane observer or seeker could/can understand. It was told to his close disciple who was working in his software company and hence had the privilege of being closer to Guruji, about a decade back.
Tell him I WILL BE THERE at the time of the operation.
(Asking his disciple to write back to his disciple, whose son was going to be operated upon.)
“Yes write that to him.”
(Continuation of the conversation, when the disciple asked Guruji “will you be there?”)

Then the disciple got the feedback that operation went very successfully and the person had come out of a very serious health problem.
Disciple of Guruji:
He tests you in every aspect.... he smiles but in every smile of it there is so much meaning... in every question, in every statement there is so much meaning. You feel he is a simple man and doesn’t know anything too at times... he makes you feel he is nothing at times... Guruji too doesn’t force anything on anybody... neither does he say this is good or this is bad... it was real fun with Guruji... he made us laugh... it was mad laughter...
(In the context of describing working relationship with Guruji)
People came to ask him to do prayogams, but as per my knowledge he only did good... But mostly on life, sex, on each other, on the company, work... tears used to flow from our eyes... used to laugh a lot...
(In the context of working closely with Guruji in his software company)
Almost all the people who were serving here till now were sent off and some went off on their own accord and now I feel some sort of a loneliness.

I have nothing to do, I have done things to my capacity, let Her find the solution to the problems existing — referring to his surrendering to Ambāl in relation to Devīpuram, narrated by Sudarśanam.
Worship, chanting, mantras and remembering the myriad attributes of the Goddess are all the means for the movement from darkness of ignorance to the light of unlimited awareness. The Guru is the gateway to surrender the individual’s pettiness into the largeness of cosmic life. When all is one, the duality Disciple–Guru cannot exist; they are just one GOD. But they enjoy their separate roles in the drama of life. Guru worships the disciple as Guru, because of the God in the disciple. In that very process, empowerment happens.

You are connected to God, don’t ever forget that.
(from unpublished article):
Our destiny is determined by the nature of our deeds and thoughts. It is a result of our own karma partly; but much more important, it is a result of the environment’s karma on us. The sages gave us the procedures of Puraścaraṇa to request the Deity to change our destiny.

Don’t worry, my child — while placing his hand on the seeker, who sought Guruji’s blessing to intercede on his behalf by praying, before going back home.
I can’t change the world. There is a chance that I can change myself. Maybe the world knows and acts favorably. Maybe.
I want you all to become Gurus. When I am gone, you all will run Devīpuram — to a group of disciples, courtesy of his disciple Lori O’Doherty who was also present.
Idiot Kālidāsa worshiped Her. She wrote the Kālī bīja aiṃ on his tongue with Her tongue. He became a great poet and sang the incomparable musical composition called Śyāmalā Daṇḍakam. Nowhere in the Tantras nor any siddha puruṣas have mentioned about how Kālidāsa received dīkṣā. An interesting powerful insight by Guruji.

Both involve touch, sending healing energy through touch or even massage of all Śakti-pīṭhams, which are body parts. There is distant reiki, like doing a Śrī Yantra pūjā; placing energy in a buffer, allowing for asynchronous transfer of information, just like an email. The giver sends at some time, receiver takes it at any later time. The buffer is Śrī Yantra, or symbols of reiki — commenting on Reiki, over email, courtesy of Gloria Varghese.
I am not very knowledgeable in disciplines other than Śrīvidyā. Maybe I was wrong. Please don’t feel bad or apologize.
— This is a lesson for all of us (who are his students) to remain humble, in spite of whatever achievements we have made in spiritual realms.
If you want something from Devī, the best way to make it happen is to identify yourself with Devī and then you have the power to do anything. There is a catch there; once you identify yourself with Devī, everything is perfect.
In Tantra the woman is the teacher. She is the Guru, the leader. She has to decide where to draw that line and the sādhaka should never transgress that line. If she says, you worship my feet only, then he has no right to worship any other part of her body. That is the golden rule. If you violate whom you are worshipping, then it is no longer worship. That is the beauty of the śāstra here.
The signature of being on the proper path is that you must remain unperturbed by anger or fear. It is then that you are really on the way.
The disciple must transcend the Guru.
Sun is between navel and heart chakras. All other grahas circling around Sun are in the Svādhiṣṭhāna chakra.
— on the location of grahas in one’s own body.
Offer your body, mind and all possessions to the divine awareness in you. Take it back as prasāda from Devī.
My Guru out of compassion has given me, out of 7 crores of mantras, only nine. Seven for each chakra and another two, just in case.
Before creation, and after dissolution, there can be nothing. Kālī is such a state of nothingness. Since nothing can be known about it, it is like deep darkness. Hence Kālī is called dark black. Black is not a color, but a very large spectrum of colors which cannot be seen or known, and hence appears dark. There can be no question of beginning or end in nothing. Infinity = Pūṛṇa also has no beginning or end. Therefore nothing can be considered to be everything also. Kālī also means the power of Kāla, the time, which moves things. Let us say a cat moved from there to here. We can say that time has destroyed the cat there and created it here. So Kālī destroys and recreates — on Kālīkā in the year 2011.
Be aware that yoni can be physical; astral (Ājñā chakra) or just visualising a triangle. Choose one that yields results. The results happen in physical, mental or causal levels though. For the higher energies to flow down to physical, it takes increasing amounts of time. The choice is yours.
Some need, for changing their nature drastically — when asked about need for sādhana of ugra devatās.
Don’t get worried to get all mantras. Just chant the Guru Pādukām; it itself contains mantras of many deities and fills the world.

She is worshiped by doing pūjā without clothes. She is worshiped through intercourse. I am with you always. Even after you reach your destination. You don’t owe me anything in return. Your spiritual progress is sufficient return for me.
Tārā = desire for creation, is the first emanation, like a mixture of light and dark, knowing and not knowing. It is something like a gray smoke in which the power of white light is coupled to black darkness. A cosmic explosion took place in this, called the Sun. It has been called the cosmic egg Hiraṇya-garbha, the womb of gold. This cosmic Sun is extremely hot in the first nanosecond. Without cooling it through expansion, cosmic elements cannot be created.

No need — with a smile, when disciple Vinay inquired about Guru Dakṣiṇā, soon after dīkṣā.
For one disciple, he identified his Śakti and gave him his own Pādukām, so that in future he could give it to his students.
For another student, he raised him to state of brother-disciple to Guru himself, by asking the seeker to replace his name with Avadhūta Gurugaru’s name in Pādukā Vidyā.
For one seeker, he promised to be present in physical presence (when they are separated by being in different continents respectively), when called for in times of crisis.
For one rare fortunate practitioner, he gave him the freedom to do anything.
For several disciples of his direct disciple, he gave the hallowed Mahā-vākyas (the embodiment of all mantras found in the respective śikhās of the Vedas), etc.
Such is the glory of a Kaula Guru...
Living without attachment is what it means to live in the śmaśān, so no need to go to the śmaśān.

Those who want to practice do not want to teach, and those who want to teach do not want to practice.
She is the Śakti that takes her disciples away from involvement with the senses and desire, and by Her grace grants them complete control over the mind and the primary instincts and gives them the will and vision to come to Her abode in the Suṣumṇā. Then we will see Devī in the world, Māyā will be conquered, and we will know our own Divinity. It is only by experiencing the Transcendent Devī that one fully appreciates Devī immanent in the world.

We should not say that “I’m a Śrīvidyā upāsaka”; people who see us should know that we are so.
To change our destiny we should first get the Guru anugraha, and then itself any God will give you the fruit of the sādhana. So do the Guru Pādukā mantra.
I am not interested in all these names, we should just go on doing the sādhana.
— The living Mahāsiddha shared these insights with disciple Narasiṃha Swāmy.
Mantras circulate divine vibrations and lights in all parts of your body, converting body made out of flesh into a body of light.
— In the year 2006.

Doing annadānam to orphan children is so good, because they are in need of it.
Nature’s law is: sow before you reap. So give first and you will get more than what you gave. Love and you will be loved. Care and you will be cared for. To access unlimited abundance and pro-life powers from all of nature, it is more blessed to give help before receiving help. Also, our body contains switches which attract divine powers of Nature.
Māṇṭrī is a longer process. It starts with the Guru performing Gaṇapati, Śyāmā, Vārāhī, Lalitā pūjās. Then he puts all these yantras into a kalaśa. He draws a Mātṛkā yantra on the ground. He ties a white cloth to the devotee’s eyes and makes him/her sit on the yantra. He bathes the devotee with all mantras with waters from the kalaśa. He touches all parts of the devotee’s body, to empower the pīṭhas there. Then the band covering eyes is removed, and the devotee is offered new clothes to wear. Guru then gives the mantras of Gaṇapati, Bālā, Pañcadaśī, and any other mantras. He then instructs about the Śākta siddhānta, where the identity of the devotee and Śakti is explained via 36 tattvas. This is called Pūṛṇa Abhiṣeka Dīkṣā. This process is very similar to avabhṛtha snāna after a yajña.
No need for brāhmins, you can feed anyone.

There are stories about how the Gods wanted to witness the erotic love play of the Devī Lalitā and her 64 crore yoginīs who populate the fortress abode of Śrī Lalitā Mahā Tripura Sundarī. On the urging of the other Gods, Śiva entered Maṇidvīpa in disguise to witness and enjoy the love play of Devī and her attendants, only to be found out. He was promptly changed to a child in a state of supreme innocence. In this state Śiva experienced the love play at Maṇidvīpa. It is interesting to ponder on the paradigm on how Śiva could narrate and explain to other Gods what he experienced at Maṇidvīpa (in his innocent childlike state) upon his return. After Śiva’s visit to Maṇidvīpa in disguise and subsequent discovery, Devī Lalitā relented and reneged her earlier policy on prohibiting Gods’ entrance to Maṇidvīpa.
First use Khadgamālā to ward off any negative programming, then chant Pañcadaśī. One must have devotion to Devī and reverence to the Guru to surge forward in the spiritual path.

Anger is natural, but do not ignore it. One must try to control it.
Yes, we have certain degree of control over our fate. It’s like playing tennis: we hit the ball, and God will hit back. Hence we need to play well with proper effort.

Not necessary to consciously decide next birth, since we do not remember all things happened, even in this life. Only significant events get registered. Similarly important aspects in this life will be remembered in next life or will influence our decision aptly.
— Context: regarding query on need to decide next birth.
Even avatars like Kṛṣṇa are not free; he had to come down when order collapses. So his rebirth is decided by the extent of destruction of order. Hence mokṣa is like a carrot in front of a donkey, to keep moving.
Devīpuram Guruji should have been in Samādhi for a long time. He is a Brahma-jñānī.
— Śrī Svaprakāśānanda Tīrtha Paramahaṃsa Avadhūta on Devīpuram Guruji.
What is the goal of life? The goal of life is to play. Not to play a role. Goal is what you define for yourself in your wisdom, not in foolishness. In foolishness we try to decide goals which limit us. When we see God in front of us we can ask Him: What am I going to do? What will be my wife’s fate, my children’s fate? Those are not questions you should ask God! You have to tell God: God, please do not give me whatever I ask You to give me! Because in my ignorance I might ask something that is not right. And if it could be given, the situation will be like the golden touch of King Midas. Everything he touched would become gold. You cannot allow it. You cannot allow foolish people to have their wishes granted.
I have wiped out anger. There is a little bit of anger in me.

Kāla-saṅkarṣiṇī. What is saṅkarṣaṇa? It means attracts. Attracts what? Time. It kills time. So there is no life, even Gods do not exist. It’s like a black hole. It’s like death, when time has stopped. She gives Jāḍa Samādhi. No one can escape from Her.
I am the creator. I am God. This is confirming I am everything. This is a mahāmantra, identifying with Parameśvara. Without Guru’s permission, one cannot chant this. One must have Guru’s guidance. Then only you have the authority.

Upāsanā is trying to understand all these cosmic questions logically and illogically, to express as you try to deduce the external world or experience the inner world. Think of a person as an investigator or researcher into the nature of life/awareness/consciousness and how it interacts with the unconscious world. Is there division between the conscious and unconscious world? This is the nature of upāsanā. Upāsanā must have practical benefits of joy, happiness, mental stability, not to worry too much. These practical applications are called the Tantras.
I am not a Paramahaṃsa to give you that state.
— With a seeker who visited Guruji for the first time in Devīpuram, after having met a famous person (who claims to be a Paramahaṃsa).
When I heard this, I was amused and also amazed with the humility of the living Guru, since to a rare very few fortunate souls (which I am privy to) he has even given grace to the extent of dīkṣā in the lines of Avadhūta Gītā, raised even one to the state of a brother-disciple, imparted Ātma-sannyāsa, given the highest dīkṣā of the Krama Tantras of Kāśmīr Kālī Kramam, etc.
Sometimes you need protection from certain spiritual souls of the astral realm, who may be envious of you and as a result your progress may get stalled.
You are going back to the place of Tantra. You need protection.

Sometimes certain things are not changed by Devī and one must accept it.
